Thank you very kindly, good night.
On July 3rd, I was informed by the remaining members of Nerd Parade that they no longer desired to have me as the bassist for the band. I was at first very angry, then a little bit sad, then angry again. As the time went by I found myself less concerned with it every day.
Why did it happen? That's entirely personal. Certainly rumors will be floated about the hows and whys of the whole situation. Just remember, there are two sides to every story, and then there is the truth.
I am thankful for the experiences that I had between December of 2006, when I joined the band, and July of 2010. I was able to contribute some to the band's debut album, fully participate in the making of the second album, and contributed to the songwriting phase of, and played the initial bass tracks for the band's new album. In addition, I performed with the band over 100 times over the last 3 and 1/2 years.
Thanks to everyone that ever came out and gave me feedback at all those shows, good or bad - I appreciate every bit of it, especially the really honest folks out there.
So what now?? I'm looking into a few different musical projects already, working on more of my own new music than I have since 2006, and just living like a normal person again, instead of fighting someone else's uphill battle for a change. I have no doubt many cool things are on the horizon.
A final thought on Nerd Parade. It occurred to me that there was no reason to be sad over it, so none of you should either. The band that I loved and cared for very much, that I know many of you loved very much, had already been gone for a while now. Taken apart piece by piece.
This is how I will chose to remember Nerd Parade, 2007-2009.
